In recent years the new forms of reaction have become a historical force to be reckoned with, fighting in the war in Ukraine in the form of neo-Nazi militias — as is the case of the well-known Azov Battalion — or marching in Italy to the rhythm of chants and gestures evoking Mussolini, as well as reaching the highest seats of political power in different nations — for example Jair Bolsonaro, Donald Trump, Nayib Bukele and, more recently, Javier Milei in Argentina. However, its true historical nature can only be grasped in relation to the real movement that has made the entire planet its field of deployment: capital.

Pablo Jiménez Cea has a Master’s Degree in Sociology and is a teacher of History and Social Sciences. His main research interests are related to radical social criticism, new readings of Marx and the critical analysis of contemporary social struggles in the context of the capitalist crisis. Some of his writings and translations can be found on the Nec plus ultra website (necplusultra.noblogs.org).

We have been inspired by wonderful people – everyone individually during activism and pure living and all together within the processes of this project. We try to acknowledge the roots, work done and love put to the concepts and ideas we work with and try to learn from. A lot of ideas and materials we are sharing and working with will be from marginalized, BIPoC thinkers and activists. We will acknowledge, where we know them. And include discussions, work and learnings on colonialism, racism and appropriation into our journey.
